K-pop powerhouse ENHYPEN make a sweet return with their highly-anticipated 2nd Studio Album ROMANCE : UNTOLD.
ROMANCE : UNTOLD marks the beginning of the new ‘ROMANCE’ series, unraveling the story of seven boys who vow to protect their love at all costs. The 9-track album presents a genre-spanning tracklist ranging from Alternative R&B to Rock Drum&Bass and Soft Synth-Pop. Produced by Billboard Hot 100 hitmaker JVKE, the lead single, “XO (Only If You Say Yes),” is a Pop track about boys willing to do anything for ‘you,’ but only if you allow them to. This romantic fantasy song radiates sweet vibes with lyrics like “I’ll make all your dreams come true” and “I’ll be your genie,” highlighting the boys’ dedication. JVKE is also featured on an English version of the track.
Arriving roughly 2 years and 9 months after their 1st Studio Album DIMENSION : DILEMMA, this newest release showcases the septet’s evolved musical prowess with increased creative involvement. For this album, HEESEUNG produced their first fan song “Highway 1009,” with all seven members contributing to the lyrics to express their love for ENGENEs (ENHYPEN’s fans). JUNGWON wrote the topline for “Hundred Broken Hearts,” blending old-school R&B influences with ENHYPEN’s youthful energy to create a unique atmosphere.
Experts across various fields joined forces to further enhance the album’s quality. Grammy-winning producer Cirkut, who was behind the group’s hit “Bite Me” from last year, produced a Funk/Dance Pop track “Brought The Heat Back.” Globally renowned creative director Nicola Formichetti, known for his work with Lady Gaga, played a pivotal role in the creative direction of the album’s concept photos and music video, enhancing the members’ romantic aura with his sensual fashion styling. Departing from their previous dark and powerful album concepts, ENHYPEN embraced themes of love, boldness, and mature charm, thereby solidifying their position as leaders of conceptual artistry.
ENHYPEN has broken their record with ROMANCE : UNTOLD, achieving over 2.2 million pre-order sales, the band's highest ever. With each release, ENHYPEN demonstrate artistic growth and consistently resonate with audiences worldwide, building anticipation for what they have to offer with this new album.
