I had the pleasure to interview naar. exclusively and dive into the meaning of “weirdo,” his creative process, and much more.

Right, let’s get to know more about naar.

Hello naar.! Thank you for taking the time to talk to me for TINYgMUSIC

You recently debuted. For all the TINYgMUSIC readers, can you please describe yourself to our readers?

naar. Hello, I’m naar., an artist that makes music.

What has life been like since debuting? Is life as you imagined it to be?

naar. It’s interesting because there is a mix of things I expected and didn’t expect. I’m living a fun life.

So that we can get to know you more as an artist, what first got you into music and influenced you into the artist you are today?

naar. When I was young, I wanted to do hip-hop. However, as I encountered various genres of music, I became influenced by them. These all merged and shaped my current style.

Congratulations on the release of your comeback single. “weirdo” is very different from your debut single “PARTY MONSTER,” what inspired you to create such a different sound?

naar. Both “weirdo” and “PARTY MONSTER” were created with the party culture in mind. In these cultures, I experienced awkward moments and expressed those emotions. As for the sonic aspect, it’s always done according to how I feel in the moment, which is why they are so different.

“Weirdo” was co-produced with fellow producer/artist EOM. Can you tell us about your collaboration and how the music came about?

naar. We spent a lot of time together, constantly exchanging various discussions. We had fun working together without any obstacles because our desired directions aligned.

Did you experience any memorable moments creating “weirdo” that you can share with us?

naar. The video music shoot was memorable. It was such a hot day, and the sky was so clear that we could capture beautiful moments in each frame.

What do you hope people take away from your new single “weirdo”?

naar. I believe that everyone has their own language and way of expression. I think it would be great if everyone could find a way to express themselves in their own way with their own language.

Is there a hidden meaning in any of your songs?

naar. “Weirdo” is a story about a ghost. It talks about going to a party but not being recognised by anyone and only reacting to things touched by the ghost. The song expresses the feelings of isolation that arise from such experiences.

What inspires you when you write your songs? Can you share with us your creative process when you write new music? What do you like to do outside of the music industry that helps your creativity?

naar. I think my personal experiences and emotions have the greatest influence. Music is mostly created through an improvisational process of adding and removing elements. I gain positive energy by engaging in various external activities and meeting friends.

How would you describe your music to people? What do you think your music conveys?

naar. Even though it may vary from time to time, I always want to give off a youthful, pure energy. I strive to create emotions that can only be felt by me and share them with others. I will continue working towards that.

Are there any other genres you would like to explore in the future?

naar. There are so many. At the moment, though, I just need to show you more of myself.

Is there an artist you would like to collaborate with in the future?

naar. It would be great to work with anyone in a fun environment. I’ll save my words now until the actual moment of collaboration haha.

naar. If you could open a show for any artist, who would it be?

naar. Anyone that resonates with me is great. I want to perform anytime.

What are your current three most listened-to tracks on your playlist?

naar. EDEN - Sci-fi

Juno, midwxst - come thru

just valery - Mice On Venus (8 Bit Version)

What’s next for naar.?

naar. I plan on frequently releasing many songs.

Is there anything you would like to tell your fans?

naar. Please keep an eye out for me. Thank you.

I want to give naar. and A MASS CULTURE a special thank you for giving me the opportunity to discuss naar.’s newly released single “weirdo” and also providing me with the opportunity to cover his activities and promotions and let all the TINYgMUSIC readers know more about this recently debuted artist.
