J-Pop Group Travis Japan Announce 2nd Studio Album 'VIIsual,' set for Release in December

Travis Japan, Tokyo-based J-Pop group that’s making waves globally, have officially announced their second studio album, VIIsual, dropping on December 4, 2024 via Universal Music Japan / Capitol Records. The exciting reveal took place during the band’s Instagram Live on September 29. Pronounced as “Visual,” the album captures the essence of the group’s unique chemistry and seven distinct personalities, blending their individual talents into one extraordinary musical vision. The “VII” in the title represents the seven members, whose synergy defines the heart of the record.

VIIsual will feature 13 dynamic tracks, including some of the band’s recent hits like T.G.I. Friday Night (released in March 2024) and Sweetest Tune,” the theme song for the TV Asahi drama Tokyo Tower starring member Genta Matsuda. Fans can also look forward to the high-energy track “Fly Higher,” which serves as the opening theme for the anime Tasuketsu (Fate of the Majority), set to stream on Crunchyroll in the U.S. and Netflix globally starting October 1. Adding to the excitement, Travis Japan’s Noel Kawashima voices a key character, Kai Kasai, in the anime, marking his voice-acting debut.

The album will also feature the ballad “Staying with you,” which will appear in the upcoming film Yano-kun no Futsuu no Hibi starring member Kaito Nakamura, premiering on November 15.

Fans won't have to wait long for new music—two singles from the album, “Crazy Crazy” and “Fly Higher,” will be available on October 21.

For collectors, VIIsual will come in four unique physical editions—Limited Edition T, Limited Edition J, Fan Club Exclusive Edition, and Standard Edition—each offering exclusive content, including special discs, merch, and bonus tracks. A special all-English version of the album, VIIsual -Global Edition-, is also set for release on December 4th, catering to their growing international fanbase.

In the meantime, Travis Japan is gearing up for the U.S. leg of their first-ever, sold-out world tour, Travis Japan World Tour 2024: Road to A, with stops in Seattle, Los Angeles, and New York this October. About Travis Japan

Travis Japan is a formidable 7-member dance and performance pop group from Tokyo, named in honour of award-winning American choreographer Travis Payne (Michael Jackson’s This is It, Lady Gaga’s The Monster Ball Tour, etc.), who helped audition them in 2012. Their performance style is a captivating mix of modern, jazz, and hip hop.

In their native country, Travis Japan has headlined numerous performances including their annual Japanesque stage show TORA JA -NINJAPAN-. The group has sold out 3 consecutive shows in the fall of 2020 at the 17,000 capacity Yokohama Arena, before going on to host their 12-city IMAGE NATION national tour in the spring and summer of 2021.

The group has drawn acclaim for its captivating, syncopated dance moves and catchy pop music stylings, and in March of 2022 headed to Los Angeles. Their journey from "World of Dance" to "America's Got Talent", combined with their superb skills as performers, caught the attention of Capitol Records and UMG, and the decision was made to sign and release their music globally. Highly anticipated debut single “JUST DANCE!” surpassed 10 million video views and launched at No.5 on Billboard Global chart (excluding US), which made the group the first Japanese act to break into the top five with a debut single since the chart’s inception.

Roughly one year after signing with Capitol Records, Travis Japan brought their debut album to the world. The album, “Road To A,” symbolises Travis Japan’s pursuit of the essence of entertainment and fully encapsulates everything about Travis Japan as they prove to the world that they are authentic to who they are. The “A” within the album title is an abbreviation, as the “A” stands for authenticity.

Their first 2 songs released in 2024 “T.G.I. Friday Night” and “Sweetest Tune” both ranked at No.1 on “Billboard Japan “Download Songs” and No. 2 on “Billboard Japan HOT 100”.

For the top of the 2024 year, Travis Japan went on the road for their nationwide arena tour, “Travis Japan Concert Tour 2024 Road to Authenticity,” to support the debut album. Starting from September 2024, they will be on the road again for their first and sold-out world tour visiting 6 cities “Travis Japan World Tour 2024 Road to A.” With the immense success happening in addition to the exciting year to come, Travis Japan cements themselves as an international group with no intention of slowing down.
