YEONJUN, the 'it boy' of Gen Z Icons TOMORROW X TOGETHER, is set to release his debut solo mixtape, GGUM, on September 19.
With the mixtape’s feature track “GGUM” falling under hip-hop with a captivating electro sound, the digital cover unveiled today offers a glimpse into the mixtape’s vibe, infused with YEONJUN's trendy sensibility. The cover features a figurine resembling YEONJUN blowing on bubble gum and typography resembling gum's sticky texture, creating a hip aesthetic.
In light of the announcement, 'YEONJUN's Mixtape Intro Film' was released on HYBE LABELS' YouTube channel on September 8, amping up fans’ anticipation and curiosity. Against the bustling noises of the city, YEONJUN’s somewhat lonely appearance reveals the flip side of youth, one that isn’t always glamorous. The video opens focusing on his teary face with the phrase 'starring Yeonjun,’ alternating between his past and present as he emerges from the dark underground days into the light. His raw, rebellious energy and gritty backdrop reveal a new side of YEONJUN as a solo artist, previously unseen.
As one of the trendiest performers in K-pop, YEONJUN has captivated audiences with his riveting performance skills and mastery of various dance genres. His standout ability to break boundaries across performance, vocals, and rap has proven his powerful stage presence. With GGUM, YEONJUN is set to embark on a new journey as a solo artist and further shed light on his unique taste and one-of-a-kind style.
GGUM will be available on all streaming platforms worldwide on September 19 at 6 PM KST.
